This Privacy Policy explains what information AskRecruit (“AskRecruit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. AskRecruit is an AI-assisted college soccer recruiting mentor. We try to collect only what we need to help you and to keep it secure.
1. Information you provide
- Account information: your name and email address, and the account created when you sign in.
- Recruiting profile: details you choose to share so AskRecruit can personalize its guidance, such as graduation/class year, position(s), club, team or school, recruiting goals, and target levels. Where you provide them, this can also include academics (such as GPA or test scores), location or geographic preferences, physical or playing details (such as height or weight), and other recruiting preferences.
- Conversations: the messages you send, AskRecruit’s replies, and your conversation history. To personalize mentoring over time, AskRecruit keeps a working memory and summary of relevant facts from your conversations.
- Recruiting workflow: your school lists and the coach or contact details you add, recruiting stages and status, your notes and interactions, and your calendar of events such as camps, visits, calls, and deadlines.
- Film links: if you share a link to your highlight video, we store the link and the fact that you have film. AskRecruit does not host or store uploaded video files.
2. Information others may provide about you
AskRecruit lets you invite coaches, trainers, or others who know you as a player to share their perspective. If you invite them, they may submit information about you, such as their assessment of your playing level, strengths, areas to develop, and related recruiting observations. We use this to help provide your recruiting guidance and evaluation. Some of what an evaluator submits may be used internally by AskRecruit without being shown to you word-for-word, so evaluators can be candid.
3. Information collected automatically
To run the Service and prevent abuse, we use limited technical information. For people who use AskRecruit without an account (“guests”), we set a first-party identifier so we can apply usage limits; this identifier is a random value and is not your IP address. We also use limited technical and network information to prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, protect the Service, and keep it secure. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may also process standard technical logs as part of delivering the Service.
4. Cookies and local storage
AskRecruit uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to apply guest usage limits. We also use your browser’s local storage for the product to work, for example to hold your guest conversations and any recruiting details noted during them before you create an account, and to remember your email on this device for convenient sign-in. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
5. How we use information
We use your information to provide AskRecruit and personalize your guidance, remember your recruiting journey between sessions, operate and secure the Service, prevent abuse, respond to your requests, and improve reliability and quality. We also use your email address to send you account and sign-in messages, and occasionally to ask about your experience of AskRecruit so we can improve it. Those occasional messages carry a link to stop them; account and sign-in messages are part of using the Service. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
6. AI processing
AskRecruit uses artificial intelligence to generate its responses. To do this, we send relevant information from your conversation and profile to our AI provider (currently Anthropic) so it can produce a reply. That processing is subject to the provider’s terms. We send only what is reasonably needed to generate the response.
7. Service providers we rely on
We use a small set of trusted providers to run AskRecruit, and share information with them only as needed to deliver the Service:
- Database, authentication, and storage (currently Supabase) to store your account, profile, conversations, and recruiting data securely.
- AI model processing (currently Anthropic) to generate responses.
- Hosting and infrastructure (such as Vercel) to run and deliver the Service.
- Payment processing (currently Stripe) to process subscription payments. Your payment card details are provided to and handled by the payment processor; AskRecruit does not receive or store your full card details. We do store the billing information we need to run your account, such as which plan you are on, your subscription and payment status, when the current period ends, and the identifiers the payment processor uses for your customer and subscription records.
- Email delivery (such as Resend) for account, sign-in, and occasional experience emails where active.
- Product analytics (such as PostHog), where active, to understand how AskRecruit is used and improve it. We send only pseudonymous, structured usage events, for example that a message was sent or a school was added, and never your chat content, the names of people or schools you discuss, your recruiting notes, or other private free-text information.
These providers may change as our infrastructure evolves. Some optional integrations, such as connecting your own email or calendar, are not active by default; if we offer them, they will request your permission and we will describe the additional data involved before you turn them on.
8. How information is shared
We share information with the service providers above to operate AskRecruit, and we may disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
9. Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your associated data as described below, except for limited records we may need to retain for legal, security, or similar reasons. We do not commit to a fixed retention period at this stage.
10. Deleting or exporting your data
You can delete individual chats and their saved memories from within the app. You can also export your data or permanently delete your entire account from your account settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, recruiting board and contacts, calendar, chats, saved memories, and related records tied to your account; this cannot be undone. If you have connected an optional integration, we disconnect it as part of deletion.
11. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including row-level access controls so each account can reach only its own data, encrypted transport, encryption of sensitive tokens at rest, and server-side handling of secrets. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.
12. Children and minors
AskRecruit is built for student athletes, many of whom are minors. You must be at least 13 to use AskRecruit, and if you are under 18 you should use it with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. AskRecruit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us information, contact us at support@askrecruit.io and we will remove it.
13. Your choices and requests
You can review and edit your profile, delete chats and memories, and export or delete your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. To make a request, contact us at support@askrecruit.io.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service develops. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and may ask you to acknowledge the update the next time you use AskRecruit.
