These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and AskRecruit (“AskRecruit,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the AskRecruit website and AI recruiting assistant (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
AskRecruit offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. Features may change, and these Terms may be updated as the Service develops.
1. Eligibility and minors
You must be at least 13 years old to use AskRecruit. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for supervising your use and agrees to these Terms on your behalf. AskRecruit is built for student athletes, many of whom are minors, but it is not directed to and is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If you believe someone under 13 has used AskRecruit, contact us at support@askrecruit.io and we will remove the account.
2. Your account and account security
We use passwordless sign-in: you receive a one-time “magic link” by email. Anyone with access to your email can access your account, so keep your email secure. You are responsible for the activity on your account and for the accuracy of the information you provide. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. What AskRecruit provides
AskRecruit is an AI-assisted mentor for the college soccer recruiting process. It helps you think through your recruiting journey: building a school list, organizing outreach and contacts, tracking events and deadlines, preparing communications, and understanding recruiting concepts. The Service is informational and organizational; it is a tool to assist you, not a recruiting service, agency, or representative.
4. AI-generated guidance and its limitations
AskRecruit’s responses are generated with the help of artificial intelligence and are informational only. They can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. AskRecruit is not a coach, recruiter, counselor, agent, lawyer, or compliance officer, and its output is not professional, legal, financial, or eligibility advice.
Before you act on anything consequential, verify it with the official source. College athletics rules (including NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA rules), admissions requirements, eligibility, financial aid, and school-specific information are detailed, differ by division and institution, and change over time. Always confirm important details with the relevant school, coach, compliance office, or governing body before relying on them.
5. Recruiting information and no guaranteed outcomes
Recruiting outcomes depend on many factors outside AskRecruit’s control. AskRecruit does not guarantee any admission, roster spot, scholarship, offer, tryout, coach interest, exposure, or other recruiting outcome, and nothing in the Service is a promise that any such outcome will occur.
6. No affiliation or endorsement
AskRecruit is an independent service. Unless we specifically state otherwise, we are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, any college or university, any athletic conference, any club or team, or any coach. References to these organizations are for informational purposes only. AskRecruit does not represent any school or coach, and we do not speak for them.
7. Your responsibilities and the accuracy of your information
You are responsible for the information you give AskRecruit and for how you use its guidance. Recruiting decisions are yours (and, for minors, your parent or guardian’s). Please provide accurate information; the quality of the guidance depends on it, and outdated or incorrect details can lead to poor suggestions.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use AskRecruit to break the law, harass or harm anyone, impersonate others, submit information about someone else without a legitimate reason, attempt to breach or probe security, scrape or overload the Service, or interfere with its normal operation. We may limit, suspend, or end access that abuses the Service or these Terms.
9. Your content and the permission you give us
“Your content” means what you provide to AskRecruit: your chats, your recruiting profile, your school lists, coach and contact details you add, your events and notes, and other recruiting information you enter. You keep ownership of your content. You grant AskRecruit permission to use it only as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, and improve the Service for you, including sending relevant information to our AI provider to generate responses (see Section 13). We do not claim ownership of your content, and we do not sell it.
10. Information submitted by coaches and other evaluators
AskRecruit lets you invite coaches, trainers, or other people who know you as a player to share their perspective. If you send such an invitation, that person may submit information about you, which can include their view of your playing level, strengths, areas to develop, and related recruiting observations. AskRecruit uses this input to help provide your recruiting guidance and evaluation. Some of what an evaluator submits may be kept private from you where the Service indicates their responses are confidential, so evaluators can be candid; we cannot promise that such information is exempt from valid legal process. Only invite people who genuinely know your game.
11. Communications and outreach tools
AskRecruit can help you prepare recruiting communications, such as drafting or organizing emails to coaches and planning follow-ups. These tools help you create and organize messages; you are responsible for reviewing anything before you send it and for your own outreach. Some communication features may rely on optional integrations that are only available if and when you choose to connect them.
12. Third-party services
AskRecruit runs on third-party infrastructure and uses third-party providers to deliver the Service, including for hosting, database and authentication, AI model processing, payment processing, and email delivery. Your use of the Service also involves these providers, and our Privacy Policy describes the information involved. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control.
13. AI processing
To generate responses, AskRecruit sends relevant information from your conversation and profile to our AI provider (currently Anthropic). This processing is necessary to provide the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
14. Changes to the Service
AskRecruit is an early-stage service and continues to develop. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed, and the Service may be unavailable at times. We may set or adjust usage limits. We provide the Service as it exists at any given time.
15. Plans and billing
AskRecruit offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. The plans available to you, and the price of each, are shown before you subscribe. Paid plans are currently billed monthly.
Automatic renewal. A paid subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel it. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge your payment method the price of your plan each billing period, at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
Cancelling. You can cancel a paid plan at any time from within AskRecruit. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for; it does not end your plan immediately. You keep access to everything in your plan through the end of that period, and you are not charged again after it. You can turn the plan back on before it ends.
Changing plans. Moving to a higher plan can take effect immediately, and you may be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the start of the next billing period: you keep your current plan until then, nothing is charged at the time you make the change, and the change does not produce a refund or credit for the period you are already in.
Payments. Payments are processed by our payment processor (currently Stripe). Your payment card details are provided to and handled by that processor; AskRecruit does not receive or store your full card details. We do receive and store the information we need to run your account, such as which plan you are on, your subscription and payment status, when the current period ends, and the identifiers our payment processor uses for your customer and subscription records.
Unsuccessful payments. If a payment does not go through, your paid access and subscription status may be affected until the payment is resolved, and we may ask you to update your payment method.
Price changes. We may change plan pricing. Any change applies going forward, not to a period you have already paid for, and we will give you notice as required before it takes effect.
16. Refunds
Subscription payments are generally not refundable. Because you can cancel at any time and keep your access through the period you have already paid for, cancelling is usually the right way to stop future charges.
If you believe you were charged in error, charged more than once, or ran into a material technical problem with the Service, please contact us at support@askrecruit.io. We review these individually and may provide a refund or credit at our discretion where we think it is warranted.
17. Suspension and termination
You may stop using AskRecruit at any time. We may suspend or end access to the Service if you violate these Terms, to protect the Service or its users, or if we stop offering the Service. You can delete your account at any time (see Section 18).
18. Account deletion
You can permanently delete your account from within the app. Deleting your account removes your profile, your recruiting board and saved contacts, your calendar, your chats, and your saved memories, along with related records tied to your account. This cannot be undone. Limited records may remain where retention is genuinely required, for example to comply with law or protect the Service.
19. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and content that we provide (but not your content), belongs to AskRecruit or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use the Service under these Terms. Please do not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the Service.
20. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, uninterrupted, error free, or that it will produce any particular result.
21. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AskRecruit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any lost opportunities or recruiting outcomes, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service or from decisions made in reliance on it. Some places do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
22. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and may ask you to acknowledge the updated Terms the next time you use the Service.
23. Governing law and disputes
If you have a concern, please contact us first at support@askrecruit.io; we will try to resolve it directly. AskRecruit is an early-stage service that has not yet finalized its business formation, so these Terms do not designate a specific governing law, venue, or arbitration process; those terms will be added here as the business is formalized, and applicable law will govern in the meantime. This section does not waive any rights you have that cannot be waived under applicable law.
